Can You Say Summer?

I
am so excited right now!! Why? Well I just finished my LAST exam of my
sophomore year! How exciting right? Now, I will be able to give more time to my
blog, and I am so excited for that!
But,
since I am only a sophomore that means I have 3 moths off, and then classes for
my Junior year start up again. One of the WORST things about classes starting
up would be ordering books!
But
luckily, there is an amazing website to help all of us out! It’s called CampusBookRentals.com
and they are wonderful! They let you
rent books from them! I prefer renting, because its hassle free & way
cheaper!! They send me the book; I use it, and send it back!
One
amazing feature about CampusBookRentals.com
is that it’s free shipping, there and
back! You know how nice that makes it knowing when you finish a long semester
you don’t have to pay to send your book back! Not only is there free shipping
their textbooks are 40 to 90% off the publisher price! Saving money always
sounds good to me!
Another amazing thing about them is they have a
30 day risk free guarantee. That means if you get your book and it’s the wrong
one, or your professor decides to tell you after you ordered your books that
you won’t need that book, return it within 30 days and get a full refund! You
can’t beat that!
One special thing about CampusBookRentals.com
is that we every single book rented they donate to Operation Smile.
Operation Smile is an amazing organization that performs life changing cleft
lip surgeries on children whose family could not afford it. The long term improvement
in the quality of like for the children that receive these surgeries is almost
incomprehensible. How special is that knowing when you rent a textbook, you are
helping out a child in need!
The last thing that I think is amazing is a new
program
www.RentBack.com. It lets students that have previously
bought books rent to other students! Now, you’re making money! Who thought we
could all make money off of our school books!
How
amazing is all this information! Now, I am less stressed about ordering my
books for next semester! I will just go to CampusBookRentals.com to get all my
books, and I hope you do too!!
Hope
you all have a wonderful weekend!!

Things I don’t Understand..

There
are some things in life we will never understand…
Why people have to leave this earth before we think they should, or why bad things happen to good people.
Lately this has been on my mind a lot!
But with so much going on, I have not been able to post about it..

I never got to meet Justin’s dad, He passed away a year before I met Justin. His passing was so unexpected. He went to work like every other morning, and then he never walked back into their house. He had a heart attack and died at work…

Justin is one of the strongest people I know on this earth.. How does someone lose someone so close to them, and live everyday like everything is okay.

He doesn’t talk about his dad very often, but sometimes I can tell he misses him so much. I just wish there was a way we could call heaven just once in a while to talk to our loved ones.

I know Justin’s dad is looking down on us everyday, but still it is hard. Last night, Justin told me how much he missed his dad, and it completely broke my heart. I wanted to tell him with time it will heal.. but who am I kidding, time doesn’t heal pain like that.. You just miss the person even more. It is just another day that passes that you didn’t get to talk to them.

Time does not heal pains like that.
I believe in God, but sometimes I want to ask why? Why take Justin’s father away at such a young age.
Justin’s dad won’t be at our wedding, or see his grandchildren, he won’t be at the swearing in of Justin becoming a police officer.
I know he is looking down from heaven, and that does make me feel better.. But I just wish he was here with us, so Justin’s family could be whole again.

It is crazy how fast you can loose a loved one. Say I love you every day, more than once a day. Call when you can, and don’t ever leave anything unsaid, You never know when those could be your last words to your loved one.

I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend! Enjoy time with the ones you love, and cherish that time forever in your heart!

Boring Blog…

I just wanted to say sorry for the boring blog lately!
I have had no time!
(But, I am not complaining!)
This house is keeping me so busy, and school, yes one week of classes + 4 exams.. and its SUMMER!
Summer can not come fast enough! And then I get to start my new designing job! Which I am super excited for! That will open a whole new chapter in my life, and I am so ready for it!

Things on my mind:

Decisions: I suck at making them.. I change my mind every two or three seconds! I think I have everything for both bath rooms picked out. Who am I kidding, I still have to pick out lighting, paint colors, towels, and all the extra stuff!!

Police Officers: When people don’t move over when they see a police officer has someone pulled over. It makes me so MAD! I understand, we all “hate” police officers when they pull us over, (yes I do to) but make them have a safer job. Move over, or change lanes so you give them room to be safe.

Shopping: Your getting a little too out of control! I have gotten so much for the new house, but I can’t just stop myself! It is crazy how exciting it is! And thanks, to the boyfriend who went shopping with me tonight! I didn’t even have to beg him that much!!

Hope everyone has a wonderful Friday!!
Don’t forget, I am still attempting on writing a post for you all to get to know me better! So ask questions that you want to know about me!!

Okay friends.. I need help! I know I already did a post
about my hair!
You can find it here.
But now I kind of think I want to change it up! But everyone
likes something different.. And me, I don’t know what I like!!
Boyfriend likes blonde and long
Sisters & Mother like brown or blonde and short

These two are what the family likes.. They really like the first picture hair style
(yes that was my graduation cake!!)

You all know what kind of hair style I have now..
So it is time to be honest….

What do you like, and what looks best on me?

{{Also, I know I haven’t done a lot of post directly about me, so I thought about doing a post to answer peoples questions!
So leave me questions to answer!
Or you can e-mail me kara(dot)schwieterman(at)gmail.com}}

Weekend Shenanigans & My House Progress!

This weekend was pretty low key.. Let’s see, we worked on the house, I went to work, we worked on the house, I went to work, we worked on the house.. yes you get the picture!!
And now… I’m sick. I thought I have left my blog for too long, and I also want to say sorry! I haven’t been on my blogger A+ game lately.. I have not even gotten to read my favorite blogs since about Wednesday!!  (horrible me.. I know)
So I thought I would give you all an update on the house!!

My father and Justin working hard!!

The progress: All the windows are clean! Both of the bathroom’s are completely gutted! I know that doesn’t sound like a lot, but it is! All the bathroom’s are down to the studs! And now it is so exciting to see all what we can do with the house!

Hope you all had a wonderful weekend!

Hope Everyone is having a wonderful Friday!
Every thing went well with the house! And WE NOW OWN THE HOUSE!
So I am just a little busy so the wonderful Robin is here to talk to you all!!
Here’s Robin!

Hello, everyone! My name is Robin and I blog over at At Four O’Clock (atfouroclock.com). I have never done a guest post before, but I recently stumbled across Kara’s blog and have been enjoying it ever since, so when she asked if anyone was interested, I decided to give it a shot.

A bit of info about me: I am an almost-twenty-five-year-old native South Carolinian. I have a wonderful husband and two dogs. I recently finished my Associate’s degree last year, but am currently working a part-time retail position. Any job is better than none, right?

Although my blog is not usually about advice, I have gathered some various little tips and tricks after two years of marriage. I thought I would share a few with y’all today (yes, “y’all” – I am Southern).

Here are three basic hints that I think everyone – single, in a relationship, engaged, or married – should keep in mind:

~ Coupons and sales are not always great.

Okay, I realize that this topic can actually start arguments. Some people are devoted coupon-clippers. Working in a large “big box” chain store, it isn’t unusual for me to see shoppers with entire binders that contain pages of coupons.

Let me caution you that most of them are not saving you money. They only really help if you use them for the exact items that you were already going to buy. There may be another brand, or a cheap store brand, with a regular price that is cheaper than the discounted coupon price.

Also be aware of the requirements on a coupon. I once saw one that gave fifty cents off on a particular brand of frozen dinner – when you buy three of them. The regular cost of these particular dinners is over three dollars. You would be spending close to ten dollars, just to be able to save fifty cents. Is that worth it when you could buy six or seven dinners of a different brand?

On this same note, avoid buying items just because they are on sale. Check to see if the sale price costs more than the regular price of something else.

~ Re-use what you can.

Thanks to websites like Pinterest, more people are saving glass and plastic bottles, containers, and jars for crafts and do-it-yourself projects, rather than throwing them away. That’s great, but also consider how quickly you are going through other items.

Two things that I don’t always trash right away are paper towels and cardboard boxes. Boxes from pasta, cereal, rice, etc. are great temporary counter-top trash cans. I keep them in a corner of the counter and discard small pieces of paper or plastic trash, then finally throw them into the regular trash can when they are full. Why fill up your can faster with empty boxes?

* Note: I don’t recommend throwing food scraps/pieces into them, as smells might attract bugs and flies during some seasons.

When it comes to paper towels and napkins, hesitate before throwing those out, too. There’s no need to toss an entire paper towel because you wiped up a few drops of water with it. Unless it is especially dirty or gross, keep it on a small plate in a corner, so you can use it to wipe up one or two more little spills.

~ Don’t compare yourself.

I love blogging. I have made several great blog friends. But I realize that blogs, and websites such as Pinterest, occasionally have a way of making us compare our lives and accomplishments to those of others. You might look at pictures of another blogger’s kitchen and then feel a little down about yours. Or you see a gorgeous living room on Pinterest and wish you had it.

This may sound like a dramatic cliché, but it’s true: Be happy with what you have and what you have accomplished. Don’t base your life around those of others. As much as I like my blog friends, I know there is a reason why some of them are teachers and nurses, or why some travel on a monthly basis. They are who they are. I am who I am. We all have different lives, and we must have our own definition of what is “success” and “happiness”.

Keep this in mind when you go shopping. Store displays that show new kitchen, bedroom, or bathroom decorations are created to make a particular group of products look good. They’re pretty on shelves, but would they really work in your home? An occasional re-decorating project is fine – but don’t be easily tempted to re-do something that you are already happy with (and might have put several days or weeks of work into).

Well, this was a little random, but I hope it was helpful to some of you. I appreciate you reading and hope you will visit me over at my blog!
